Lessons and resources relating to the inner workings of a standard computer. What are the standard components, and how do they work? What variations are there on those standards, what are the differences between them?

The scope of this community includes the basics of hardware, but may at times integrate with or lead into topics that would be better categorized under computer science or electronics. For the most part, communications technology and computer networking is outside of the scope of this community. The inner workings of standard peripheral devices such as printing and scanning may be covered here.

This community would be best left as a resource for basic technical information relating to hardware and its inner workings in general. It should not focus on higher level tech or giving advice on specific situations, just to keep our scope focused, and not flood our students with too much unrelated information.
